The wool and cotton yarns used in weaving are dyed by drying the roots, flowers and fruits of trees that grow spontaneously from the nature of the region and give color. Traditionally, black, minister red (burgundy), navy blue, green, red, yellow colors are used in Derbent weavings. The fineness and thickness of wool and cotton yarns according to the area of use of the fabric to be woven; 20, 30, 40, 50 yarns, and 20/2 thin colored yarns are used in the weaving of patterns. After the Derbent weavings are removed from the loom, they are washed with olive oil soap in Iznik Lake, which has soda water, in order to fix the dyes and to make the natural yarn color, which is the ground color of the weaving, cream color- off-white, a lighter color. After the weavings are dried, the weavings woven as dowry such as peskir, oilcloth, kırpa, underwear are placed in chests, and the weavings to be used in daily life are used after these processes. In Derbent Weavings; Floral motifs are usually embroidered on the weavings called pesky, oilcloth and environment, which are woven as dowry. During weaving, plants, flowers and fruits growing in the region, animal patterns are embroidered with In the weavings; viburnum, pitcher, flower in a pot, tulip, hibiscus, ala cherry, bird's eye, broken meter, fern, clover, tefe, snake curve, drum mallet, islihaz leaf, duck, side crossing, cross islihaz, knife nose motifs and geometric patterns are used. From the past to the present, shirts, underwear, bed sheets, mattresses, rugs, rugs, scallops, loincloths, oilcloths, oilcloths, environment, bags, bread cloth, table cloth, çerga, sash, etc., which are needed by the people of the region, have been woven on looms from the past to the present.
