Traditional kutnu fabric is a weaving with vibrant colors. The caftans of the Ottoman sultans were made of kutnu. For this reason, kutnu fabric has a second name: "Palace Weave". This weaving has been a symbol of beauty and elegance throughout history.
Gaziantep Kutnu fabric is a type of woven silk fabric and consists of a mixture of rope, cotton yarn and rayon. Artisans weave this precious fabric in various ways on hand looms. According to some sources, it was used in local clothing for years starting from the 16th century. Today, there are bags, slippers, cushions and other accessories made of kutnu.
